LOCATION

At 3 km from Santa Teresa di Gallura, 25 km from Palau La Maddalena, and 50 km from Costa Smeralda, Hotel Mirage is located in Capo Testa, one of the most beautiful spots Sardinia has to offer, at the far north neck of the peninsula overlooking Bocche di Bonifacio, the strait separating the island from Corsica.
The sea, landscape and nature of Capo and its surroundings are truly marvelous; the famous Giants' Tombs at Lu Brandali are evidence of the ancient Sardinian civilization while the caves are testimonial of Roman times, with the gorgeous gray-pink granite used in the buildings of Rome.
The promontory of Capo Testa is connected to the mainland by a thin isthmus and offers truly unique landscapes. Pink-gray rocks as smooth as statues plunge in a crystal-clear sea with a range of blue and green hues. The sea bottom is one of the most beautiful to be found anywhere in the world: gigantic granite blocks with cave formations where red and black coral coexist with moray eels, congers and lobster crab.

The beaches are of incredible beauty, of thin white sand with the green Mediterranean as a back drop, alternated by suggestive coves where granite blocks polished by the erosive action of sea and wind create an alluring moon-like landscape of extraordinary uniqueness.

Among the most beautiful: Taltana, and Rena di Ponente, in Roman times the old Tibula colony, of white fine sand and crystal-clear water, protected from the Tramontana (north wind) and Sirocco winds; Rena di Levante starts with flat rock and continues with the beach at Capicciolu or Dei Graniti so called for the many incredible rock formations it is surrounded by (ruins of Roman columns can still be found here); the Valle della Luna (Moon Valley), a stroll along gigantic blocks smoothed by the 300 million-year action of water and wind, will bring you to three coves, one more breathtaking than the other, and steeped in a magical and primitive atmosphere; the charming Cala Spinosa, little visited and difficult to access, offers a majestic landscape of granite rocks plunging to a crystalline sea and is a true diver's paradise.
